A monthly medical membership

Understand the care.
Decide whether it fits.

Membership gives us a way to keep working on your health together, with time to return to your questions, direct member contact and a doctor who gets to know you. You can keep your PCP and discuss an additional role for me, or ask whether I could be your primary physician, depending on your needs and my scope of care. Before you join, we’ll agree on roles, contact arrangements and costs. The membership fee is separate from insurance.

Already have a primary care doctor?

I can be an additional physician in your corner: someone to review your questions, talk through results and options, and help you make sense of the bigger picture. With your permission, we can coordinate with your existing clinicians.

Looking for a primary physician instead?

We can also discuss whether I can take that role, rather than working alongside an existing PCP. We’ll agree on what I can manage, where care is available, and when you need another clinician or facility. Membership does not replace insurance.

Let’s look for ways to spend less on the care you need.

Cost is part of the conversation. If a medicine, test or supplement seems expensive, tell me. We can look at the choices together, especially when insurance does not cover something or you have a high deductible.

Medicines: compare the options.

When a medicine is appropriate, I can help compare generics, pharmacy prices, eligible coupons and licensed online pharmacies. We can also check whether a longer prescription supply or an available purchasing program would cost less. The right option depends on your prescription and the prices available to you.

Lab tests: ask what you would actually pay.

Discounted Quest and Labcorp lab pricing is available through my practice. We can compare those prices with what you would pay using insurance before you choose. I do not add a profit margin to lab orders. For a more specialized test, we’ll discuss what question it could answer, whether it would help your care and the full outside cost. Testing is paid separately from membership.

Supplements: no profit margin for me.

You can access Fullscript through my practice. If a supplement makes sense for your care, we can compare suitable products, current prices and available discounts. I do not earn a profit margin on supplements. The product and any supplier, shipping or platform charges remain separate; we’ll review the total before you choose.

Curious about complementary care? Let’s talk.

If you’re interested in supplements, complementary or alternative approaches, or options beyond prescription medicine, I’d like to hear what you’re hoping for. I want to help you better understand your body and feel involved in your care. We can explore food, movement, sleep and the approaches you’re considering, looking together at the evidence, possible benefits and risks, interactions with medicines, and how they fit with your existing care. Bring your questions, what you’ve tried and what matters to you. We’ll work through the options together. We won’t use an unproven approach to replace needed medical treatment or delay an evaluation.

DPC, explained plainly

Already have a PCP and PPO?

You can keep your PCP. Membership adds a physician relationship with time to work through questions and make sense of your care together: an hour reserved for your first membership appointment, at least 30 minutes for standard scheduled follow-ups, and direct member text or phone contact with availability agreed before you join.

Direct primary care (DPC) means paying the practice a monthly fee for the care in your agreement. Membership is separate from insurance; outside costs and your PPO’s coverage rules still apply. Compare what’s offered here with what your current care already provides.

When care feels complicated

Your existing PCP and insurance-based care

More time to work through unresolved questions, different specialist opinions, insurance requirements and appropriate medical paperwork. Support does not guarantee approvals, coverage or appointments.

Compare the time, contact arrangements and support described here with what your current care already provides.

Comparing DPC with concierge medicine?

Practices use these names differently. Look at the actual fee, included care, who you contact, visit time, availability, insurance billing and extra costs. This practice offers the monthly membership and specific arrangements described here, rather than a guarantee of unlimited access or every service.

Why this clinic exists

The hope for this clinic is to build relationships that can last. There’s time to get to know each other, talk about what’s going on, and keep figuring things out together. The monthly membership helps make that possible, so the relationship can continue over time.

It’s a blessing from God to be able to serve people this way. The hope is that, little by little, more of these relationships can grow here. Whatever your beliefs, you’re welcome.

Stay in touch between visits

As a member, you can call or text me directly between visits. We’ll agree on availability and how to get help at other times before you join; replies may take time.

Time to talk

Your first membership visit has an hour reserved, and standard scheduled follow-ups are at least 30 minutes. A brief call or message between visits can take less time.

When something new comes up

If you suddenly feel unwell, we’ll usually start by phone or video when appropriate. Some concerns need an examination or prompt local care; remote care also depends on your location.

House calls, when possible

If I’m available and it makes sense for your care, I’ll try to arrange a house call with you. We’d agree on the arrangements first; I can’t promise one for every member.

I’ve shared coffee or a meal with several of my patients, sometimes simply to catch up. I like getting to know how life is going, beyond the medical questions. This is something we might arrange together, not a guaranteed membership benefit.

For a medical emergency, call 911. Don’t wait for a text, call or email reply.

Questions about care and fees

I already have a PCP. Why add this membership?

You may want more time to revisit questions, direct contact with a familiar physician, and help making sense of reports, medicines, specialist opinions or care arrangements. The monthly fee pays for the medical care in our agreement; it is additional to your existing care, not another insurance policy. Compare what you already receive with the support you still want.

Will having two doctors make my care confusing?

Before you join, we’ll discuss how my role fits with your PCP and other clinicians. With your permission, we can coordinate care. We’ll need clear arrangements for the care and communication we take on; membership does not automatically transfer responsibility for all prescriptions, tests or urgent follow-up.

How is the free 15-minute conversation different from my first appointment?

The free introductory conversation is a chance for me to hear what you’re looking for, explain how my care works, and discuss whether ongoing care fits. It is separate from the first membership appointment, which has an hour reserved, and standard scheduled follow-ups of at least 30 minutes. See the homepage for how membership starts. Please leave medical details and records out of your first text.

Why pay monthly if I don’t need a visit every month?

The fee is for an ongoing care arrangement, rather than a separate charge for each included consultation. You may value having a familiar doctor to revisit questions and follow a plan with. If you’re looking for a single consultation, a practice that offers individual visits may be a better fit.

I already pay for insurance. What would I be adding?

You would be paying separately for my membership care: consultations, follow-ups, and help thinking through your health questions within our agreement. Insurance and membership do different jobs. Check what your existing care already provides, what support you still want, and whether the extra monthly expense makes sense for you.

Does membership include every test I ask for?

No. We can talk about what is worrying you and whether a particular test would help answer that question. Tests are not automatically included or guaranteed. Labs, imaging, and other outside services have their own charges.

How do I compare this with another DPC or concierge practice?

Compare the actual agreement: who provides your care, what visits are included, how and when you can contact the doctor, where care is available, what costs extra, and the enrollment and cancellation terms. Practices use these labels differently. Before you join My Doctor Cares, ask us to explain anything that is unclear.

How much time will I have with you?

I reserve an hour for our first membership appointment. Standard scheduled follow-up visits are at least 30 minutes. A brief text or call between appointments is a different kind of interaction; the purpose is to help address the question and decide what follow-up you need.

Is the personalized newsletter and AI-assisted coaching available now?

These are plans I’m developing. They are not being offered as a current included membership service. I’ll explain the content, how it will work, and any relevant terms before introducing it.

Are you an Orange County practice?

Our current patient-visit office is 660 N Diamond Bar Blvd, Suite 100, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. Patients come from Irvine in Orange County and from West Covina. You can start with a text; the homepage explains what to include. We can discuss where and how your care can take place, including whether phone or video care is appropriate for your location and medical needs. Please leave medical details, records and test results out of your first text.

What are the monthly rates, and what is included?

Membership starts at age 12: $35/month for ages 12–17, $65/month for full-time college students age 18+, and $109/month for other adults. There is also a one-time $100 enrollment fee per person. Family members who join at the same time and attend their first appointment together share one $100 enrollment fee in total; monthly fees apply to each person. The consultations and follow-ups with me described in your membership agreement are included, without an additional visit fee for that care. Outside services such as labs, imaging, medicines, specialists, hospital care, and emergency care cost extra. We’ll review the exact scope and terms before you join. The $109 adult plan includes unlimited membership visits with me within our agreed care and scheduling.

Where is the clinic?

660 N Diamond Bar Blvd, Suite 100, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. Call the clinic to confirm your visit details. Telemedicine availability depends on where you are and the care you need.

Do I need to leave my current primary care doctor?

No. Membership can add a personal physician relationship alongside your existing care. If you want me to serve as your primary care physician instead, let’s discuss whether that fits your needs and the care I can provide. This does not automatically change the PCP designated by your insurance plan.

Can I speak with you in Mandarin?

Yes, I speak English and Mandarin. If you’d like family involved, we’ll start with your wishes and permission before sharing health information.

Can I contact you when something comes up at home or while traveling?

Members can text or call me directly. Many acute concerns can start with a phone or video consultation after I receive your message or call. Availability and the kind of care you need matter. When you travel, we must also check your location; care is not available in every state or country. Emergencies need local emergency services.

Is this emergency care?

No. This is not an emergency service. For a medical emergency, call 911; don’t wait for a text, call, email or social-media reply.

If you have an HMO — how do referrals work?

For services your HMO requires it to approve, you usually still need your plan-assigned primary care doctor or medical group for the covered referral or authorization. I can help you understand what to ask and coordinate with that care. My recommendation does not automatically authorize an HMO-covered service; your plan’s rules and exceptions apply.

If you have a PPO — how do referrals work?

I can help you find an appropriate specialist and provide a referral when needed. PPO plans usually allow specialist visits without a primary care referral, but network, prior-authorization, and cost rules can still apply. My referral does not guarantee coverage or mean I am in your plan’s network.

If you’re paying cash — how do referrals work?

I can help with appropriate specialist referrals and available self-pay options, including discounts where available. Ask the outside clinician or facility for the price, what it includes, and an applicable written estimate before planned care. Their acceptance, appointment availability, and final charges are separate from your membership.

Does membership replace insurance?

No. Your membership pays for the care in our agreement. Hospital, emergency, specialist, and other outside costs remain separate. Insurance may help with covered outside services, subject to your plan; membership is not insurance.

What if my family joins together?

Family members who join at the same time and attend their first appointment together pay one $100 enrollment fee in total. Monthly membership fees still apply to each person. For example, two adults on the $109 plans pay $318 for the first month ($218 in membership fees + one $100 enrollment fee), then $218/month. Outside services cost extra.

Could membership help me spend less on healthcare?

It can, depending on the care you use and the prices available. The $109 adult plan includes unlimited membership visits with me, without an additional fee for each included visit. That may be helpful if you often face visit copays or a high deductible. We can also compare medication and testing costs. Look at the whole picture: membership, the one-time $100 enrollment fee, insurance costs and outside services. Membership is separate from insurance. We can compare the full cost with what you pay now before you decide.

What about Fullscript or more specialized tests?

Discounted Quest and Labcorp lab pricing and Fullscript access are available through my practice. We’ll review suitable tests or products, current prices and any supplier, shipping or platform fees before you choose. Supplement discounts and lab pricing work differently. I do not add a profit margin to lab orders or supplements. For a specialized test, we’ll also discuss whether it would help your care.

What I’m planning next

Help you understand your health and take an active part in it.

I’m planning personalized health newsletters, a health journey you can follow over time, and coaching support to help turn your goals into everyday steps. I want you to understand what we’re working on, see your progress, and feel able to make informed choices about your health.

I plan to use AI to help organize information and prepare useful materials, with me reviewing the care content and discussing it with you. These tools are still being developed; the details and availability will be explained before they are offered.
