I’m Joshua Lin, DO, a board-certified internal medicine physician and the founder of My Doctor Cares. My background includes hospital medicine. My focus here is helping you make sense of complex care and getting to know you deeply over time—your health, daily life, priorities, relationships, and faith when you want to discuss it. You can speak with me in English or Mandarin.

Helping you make sense of complex care
When there are several medicines, reports or specialist opinions, it can be hard to see how they fit together. My focus is helping you understand the questions, consider the options and discuss an appropriate next step, alongside your existing clinicians when that is the arrangement.
We’ll discuss which questions I can help manage, which need your PCP or a specialist, and how to work together with your permission.
Getting to know you over time
I want to understand your history, how you live and work, what worries you, and what you hope will change. Treatment, daily habits, emotional concerns, family and faith can all be part of that conversation.
We build that understanding over time. I reserve an hour for the first membership appointment and at least 30 minutes for standard scheduled follow-ups. I’m keeping the practice small so there is time to get to know each person and follow how things are going.
Many of my first appointments have happened over a meal or coffee, with an hour or more to talk. We talk about health, but also work, hobbies, passions and ideas. I want to know the person I’m caring for, beyond the medical questions. Some of those relationships have become friendships.
I’ve also visited patients at home. Where we meet depends on what you need and what we arrange together. If coffee or a meal would help you feel comfortable talking, we can discuss that. Office visits are welcome, too; some medical needs require an in-person examination.
Medical care, with room for your questions
I care for new health concerns and ongoing conditions, discuss prevention, review medicines and supplements, and help you understand results and appropriate next steps. Many acute concerns can begin with phone or video assessment when appropriate.
You can keep your existing primary care doctor. We can discuss how my role fits with theirs, or whether I can serve as your primary physician. We’ll agree on the actual care and communication arrangements before you join.
When care gets complicated, we can work through it together.
Sometimes the difficult part is understanding an insurance requirement, preparing medical paperwork such as a disability form, or finding an appropriate specialist. I’m willing to keep learning, check what needs clarifying, and help with the parts I can appropriately take on.
We’ll discuss the work involved, what falls within our agreement, and any separate fees. Help with paperwork or referrals doesn’t guarantee approval, insurance payment, or an available specialist appointment.
The clinic today, and what I hope can grow
I founded My Doctor Cares to build this kind of relationship with patients. The care described here is care with me, based at our Diamond Bar office.
I hope to welcome other physicians to My Doctor Cares in the future, with the same commitment to listening, clear explanations, and a continuing relationship. As the practice grows, you’ll know which physician is caring for you.
The faith behind my care
I’ll be praying for you.
My hope is to care for you with the love of Jesus and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading.
If you’d like us to pray together, just ask. You’re welcome here, whatever you believe.
You don’t have to share my faith. Prayer and spiritual conversation are your choice, never a condition of care.
The vision behind it is Kingdom Healthcare: whole-person care, grounded in love and attentive to God’s presence.
Before you decide
Start with a text. I’ll call you back.
Tell me your name, the best number to reach you, and, in a few words, what you feel is missing in your care and how you hope I can help. I’ll call you back so we can get to know each other and discuss whether ongoing care would fit. Please keep your first message general; leave out medical details and records.
This free introduction is separate from your first membership appointment, which has an hour reserved. Standard scheduled follow-ups are at least 30 minutes.
See the homepage for what to include in your first text.
This is not an emergency service. For a medical emergency, call 911; don’t wait for a text, call or email reply.
